Actors & Featured Background Performers
South Carolina Ballet is accepting submissions from actors and performers for select character and featured background roles in upcoming productions of Disco Inferno and Nutcracker.
We are seeking men and women, ages 18+, with strong stage presence, personality, and an ability to work comfortably within a large-scale theatrical production.
Professional acting or dance experience is welcomed but is not required for all roles.
Current Productions
Disco Inferno
A Studio 54-inspired ballet celebrating the music, fashion, glamour, and nightlife of the 1970s.
Actors and featured background performers will help create the world of the production as clubgoers, socialites, nightlife personalities, photographers, hosts, and other atmospheric characters.
Nutcracker
South Carolina Ballet is also seeking performers for select party parent roles within its annual production of Nutcracker.
Casting needs vary by production and performance location.
We Are Looking For
Applicants should:
- Be 18 years of age or older
- Have a strong and confident stage presence
- Be comfortable taking theatrical and movement direction
- Work well as part of an ensemble
- Be available for required rehearsals and performances
- Be comfortable appearing in costume, makeup, and character as required by the production
Dance training is not required unless specified for an individual role.
Casting is based on the individual requirements of each production. Submission does not guarantee an audition or role. Selected applicants will be contacted directly by South Carolina Ballet with additional audition, rehearsal, wardrobe, and performance information.
