Amanda Hwang

Soloist

From Watchung, New Jersey, Amanda Hwang trained full-time at the Gelsey Kirkland Academy under Gelsey Kirkland. After graduating, she joined American Repertory Ballet as a trainee, where she performed in The Nutcracker, Coppélia, and Don Quixote.

The following year, Amanda joined BalletMet as a trainee under Edwaard Liang, performing in The Nutcracker, Giselle, Walpurgis Nacht, and excerpts from both Edwaard Liang’s Beautiful Child and Gustavo Ramírez Sansano’s 18+1. She has also attended summer programs with American Ballet Theatre and the Bolshoi Ballet.

Now in her 7th season with South Carolina Ballet, Amanda was promoted to Demi-Soloist in 2023 and to Soloist in 2024. This is her 3rd season performing as a Soloist with the company.
